Imagine: On a hot summer day, you drank a glass of cold coca the first thing you wake up. And then, you went for a boat trip with your friends and spent time at a beach wondering where you should grab ice cream after the party.

What a wonderful day.

What if, one day, I tell you that, you can no longer lead a life as you always have, because all the water in Hong Kong has been polluted and is no longer suitable for drinking, not even for bathing, or washing?

Water is essential to human beings. However, research shows that 1 in 8 individuals worldwide lack access to safe drinking water. The problem is especially severe in Dharavi Slum in India.

Over 500, 000 people lives in the area. The area has severe hygiene problems due to the scarcity of toilet facilities. On a research, there is only 1 toilet per 1,440 residents in Dharavi, and spread of contagious and potentially fatal diseases is further aggravated because the residents urinate and defaecate at a local river.

Let see what CNN has to say about this.
