THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S CLUB OF MOSCOW (IWC)
IWC

The purpose of the IWC is to promote friendship, to further cultural activities among women of all nationalities residing in Moscow and to raise funds to be donated to charitable activities.

 

The IWC Charities Group is run by members from many different countries who want to work together to reach out to people in Russia and make the difference.  The purpose is to ensure that the IWC Charities Group is able to help those who need it.

 

The IWC focuses primarily on children, and organize life-changing events for the child, their family and beyond.

MPC SOCIAL SERVICES
MPC

MPC Social Services began serving Moscow in 1991, and was officially registered as a charity in 2008. It is an outgrowth of the charitable work of the English speaking, interdenominational Moscow Protestant Chaplaincy, which has been in Moscow since 1962 under an international agreement with the Soviet Union. MPC Social Services is a non-religious charity, legally separate from the Moscow Protestant Chaplaincy.

 

In November 1991, MPC began several soup kitchens in Moscow. Their programs over the years have been created and expanded according to the ever-changing needs of the community they serve, the poor and marginalized in Moscow that are living in Russia without a supportive social network to ensure safety, security, and health. Russian pensioners, single mothers, immigrants, and refugees receive care including access to food, medical consultation, clothing, and shelter. Currently, their targets are residents of Russia and includes Russian, Afghans, and Africans (ranging from Nigeria to Madagascar) and speaks as many languages, including English, Russian, French, and Dari.

CHINESE VOLUNTEERS IN RUSSIA
Zhiyuanzhe

Chinese volunteers in Russia began to Summer 2009 in order to gather Chinese in Moscow. They first started as a group solely working for Chinese living in or travelling to Russia.

 

There were officially registered as a charity in 2010. Their work currently does not limit to Chinese in Russia that are in need, but also Russians that need help.

LOMONOSOV MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY (MSU)
MSU

Moscow State University is one of Russia's most prestigious institutions of higher learning, and has demanding entry requirements for prospective students. It was placed 77th overall by the Academic Ranking of World Universities and 112th by QS World University Rankings.

 

On a highly cited and consistent ranking, Moscow State University ranked 43rd in 2008, 44th in 2009–2011, and 45th among 300 Best World Universities in 2012 compiled by Human Resources & Labor Review (HRLR) on Measurements of World's Top 300 Universities Graduates' Performance. MSU is strong mostly in natural sciences and mathematics (currently placed between 38th and 75th in the world).

SAINT PETERSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY (SPSU)
SPSU

Saint Petersburg State University is a Russian federal state-owned higher education institution based in Saint Petersburg. It is the oldest and one of the largest universities in Russia.

 

SPSU has produced a number of Nobel Prize winners. Prime ministers Pyotr Stolypin, Vladimir Lenin, the President Vladimir Putin, and the former President, Prime Minister Dimitry Medvedev of Russia, president of Lithuania Dalia GrybauskaitÄ— are alumni, as is the mathematician Mikhail Gromov.

 

Eight of the graduates of the university are Nobel Prize recipients: Ivan Pavlov (Physiology and Medicine, 1904), Ilya Mechnikov (Physiology and Medicine, 1908), Nikolay Semyonov (Chemistry, 1956), Lev Landau (Physics, 1962), Aleksandr Prokhorov (Physics, 1964), Wassily Leontief (Economics, 1973), Leonid Kantorovich (Economics, 1975) and Joseph Brodsky (Literature, 1987).
